Dear Compton Jr. Posse Supporters:
These are challenging times for everyone, especially for youth. The Compton Jr. Posse was developed to provide inner-city youth with alternatives to the lure of gang and drug lifestyles. For over 20 years, the Compton Jr. Posse has given inner city kid’s hope by teaming them with horses. Through these equestrian activities, youth develop responsibility, discipline and increases self-esteem. Students learn to set and achieve both academic and career goals. There can be no better investment in their future.
Our mission this year is to establish the first inner city high school equestrian team and charter school with our eyes set on the Olympics. This will give students an opportunity to compete for equestrian scholarships at some of the top colleges in the country. Our students are currently in training with 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Will Simpson and Olympic Bronze Medalist- International Dressage Judge Charlotte Bredahl-Baker and many other top national trainers.
Please help keep hope alive by donating to our biggest fundraiser of the year. A major source of funds will be raised through our silent auctions. To insure a successful event, we need merchandise, gift certificates, services, autographed items, or you may make a cash donation. You can also choose to support the event by becoming a sponsor, or purchasing advertising in our program book.
